Maor Shani directs SERI Lab (Social Experiences, Resilience, and Identity), which begins its work at Ariel University in October 2026. He is also a visiting scholar at Constructor University in Bremen, Germany. Our research examines conflict and reconciliation, antisemitism and discrimination, coping and resilience, and psychological life with chronic conditions.

He was a postdoctoral researcher in developmental psychology at Osnabrück University from 2020 to 2025, following postdoctoral work in the Psychology of Intergroup Conflict and Reconciliation Lab at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with Prof. Eran Halperin in 2019–2020.

He completed his PhD in psychology at the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences in 2016, supervised by Prof. Klaus Boehnke. His dissertation examined Jewish–Palestinian coexistence and mixed-model intergroup encounters. He previously completed an MA in Integrated Social Sciences at Jacobs University Bremen and a BA in Sociology and Anthropology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

His teaching and supervision connect substantive psychological questions with research design, measurement, and data analysis. The supervision archive documents completed theses at Osnabrück, while current projects continue at Ariel University and through external supervision.
